The Apostles Creed and the Confessions of Jesus
The idea that what the creed means is simply that Jesus was in the state or condition of the dead until his resurrection is really not tenable. Because the creed says he died was buried, he descended to hell on the third day he rose again. And so they are offering a superior argument to Calvin in terms of what the actual language could mean. But it still fails to represent the accurate teaching of the apostles creed.
