Confederate Statues - I Don't Need Pictures to Remember Pain
We want to get into their role in american history and the progress that's been made to tear them down. What we think of as confederate statues are really much more a product of he 18 90 to world war on, southern states were enacting jim crow laws. They weren't celebrating kind of benign war heroes. Most of these statutes that went up, it wouldn't even about remembering history. It was very clearly a meant to be things that would intimidate black people and further white supremacy.
