How to Get a Store Credit When You Return an Item With a Gift Card
Clark: What happens if you buy an item with a gift card and then later you return the item, but you have already disposed of that gift card? Does the store refund you in cash or do they have the card to put the credit back onto? Clark: Most often a store will give you store credit. Just make sure you say, I don't have that gift card anymore. You'll have to use it within the walls of that retailer.
