The Argument for Stripping Out Student Loan Debt
If you strip out student loan debt, the median increased 70%, 70 over from 1989 to 2019 for people with the same ages in both years. People don't take out big student loans for no reason, right? They're doing it because they're actually increasing the value of their skills and their knowledge. There's an estimate from Preston Cooper of the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity that a four-year college degree is worth $130,000.
