The Importance of Personal Attachment to Code
Facebook has a culture of being okay to shut down work that you've spent several months building and the numbers aren't showing the results you're hoping for. It is like one of the dirty little secrets of experimentation that a very small fraction of experiments are successful. I think this idealized attitude of like, oh, it's fine, I'm going to do what the communication platform says isn't really exactly true because people get frustrated about that.
