The Story of the Ghostly Hitchhiker

As time goes on with this story that dates, at least back to the time of Spanish contact, we see that the story has evolved. It's merged with other stories that were once separate, but had enough in common that over the great game of telephone, they got kind of, you know, they got multiverse, they got adapted and revised. And then to add to that, you can see this idea of an explanation for an anomalous sound throughout culture.
