The Foundling Hospital

Lem Sireb, who was brought up in care, pondered on the role the figure of the orphan, has played across culture. The Foundling Museum kind of brings all of these stories together and there is actually a painting that was inspired by one of Dickens' stories in here. Every child when accepted into the hospital was giving a new name, in part to protect their anonymity of the parent. Lem: "This changing of names is very emotive to me as somebody who had my own name changed"
