The Importance of Language Smarts

I didn't realize that somebody in the scholar world had said no we're not going to use these pre-existing tested libraries. I think it was very very unfortunate because again I think language people who get really into languages confuse language smarts with general smarts. So you know just because for example you might be more fluent in truly advanced obscure mathematical language constructs or choose to use them does not mean that you actually have a better understanding of a particular tech domain than say Java programmer who's worked on it for years.
