In December of 1953, Neil Armstrong found out about a military security report that was not too happy with him because he had been chatting with communists in the past. The US was having a time where they were like, communism real bad. Anyone who associated with communists are real bad. So it was like, it wasn't a case of him committing treason, but he shouldn't have access to military secrets and his job was canceled. He wasn't canceled. It literally said he was canceled.
