How Do We Come to Know Our Shadows?
All of us probably have elements of ourselves that are unknown and that we don't want to know. We come to know our shadows most generally in uncomfortable confrontations with others. So let me just give you a quick little example, a kind of a funny one, but one that i was just sort of thinking about, to illustrate a how this shadow looks in real life. I've come to recognize that there is a dark side of me that emerges when i'm behind the boat, trying to get up on a slalumsky. And if i am aware of it and take ownership of it and confront it, i can work on it.
