The Changes in Public Expectations of Universities
I'm keen to discuss actually the changes in public expectations of universities triggered partly, I think, by the pandemic and possibly due to longer-term trends. Alongside this, there's been arguably increased government intervention due to the pandemic. It shows that people do place huge value in higher education. So we are a public body and therefore government is going to take an interest in this. We have to live with that. My job at running a university would be much easier if I didn't have to worry about politics but not worrying about politics isn't living in the real world.
