Alabama's Race Blind Argument Is a Good Idea, Right?
There are attempts to reify this colorblind constitution as if that wouldn't be total nonsense. It's in keeping with the modern conservative weaponization of the 14th Amendment. If you have to take race out of the analysis completely, it would lead especially in Southern states to significant drops in the ability of black voters to elect their preferred candidates.
