Reflex Arcs Explained
A reflex arc means if you do something in one place, it causes something to happen somewhere else. For example, if someone taps your patelatenum with a reflex hammer, it causes your muscles to contract and your knee extends forward. So the reflex arcs are somato, which means body tissue or muscle, depending on how it's being used. Visceral is pain in body tissue such as muscle, fat, skin, fascia, bone, periostium, et cetera. Cartilage, where there's inervation in around cartilaginous areas, such as your knee joint, for example, can reflex to viscera, which means internal organs.
