Hamilton's Military Background
Hamilton grew up in the Caribbean as John Adams colorfully said the bastard, Brad of scotch peddler. His mother was forced into a marriage against her will to a vile man she ultimately fled. Hamilton's own father leaving on a business trip of three months that extended some 35 years and he never saw him again. He wrote a letter about a hurricane that came through when he was 18 and it was so well written everyone assumed it was an older person. I think perhaps Hamilton's background helps us understand his predisposition to military force.
