CHAPTER

Is There an Executive Privilege in the White House?

The White House normally tries to protect the prerogative of the executive branch to keep communications between the president and his senior aids that are advisory, so the president can receive private advice. President ford did not aggressively assert executive privilege when people were going after former president nixon's papers. And there have been some instances in the past where it has not been asserted.
