i didn't ever get to speak to a native japanese speaker until i was 18. So it had been six or seven years since i started, and i was able to talk to thema pretty easily. But other than that, i think it is really a important to target, like, a skill. For example, for the n two, i targeted reading, because i had never read a whole japanese book in its entirety ever. And i decided that i needed to get faster at reading so that i could get through those long passages at the end of the reading section on the n two id have enough time to finish them.
