Sister rosetta thorpe is the person creating the rockan roll aesthetic. So she was the elder statesman and the patriarch of this scene. The most famous guitar we know of hers is the 63 lespal custom. But some how, in the mix of everything, because of her gospel past and also segregation, granted, her innovation wasn't held aloft as much as it might have been if she was a white guye. It's a real privilege to be able to play her in this movie. We finished filming er this time last year. I'm excited for every want to see it, i really am.
