BlockFi is a company that lends out Bitcoin, re-hypoticating the currency. The business model has been criticized for being risky and not properly managing risk. But by storing Bitcoins on chain, no one person can possibly re-hypoticate it. That prevents many of the temptations that some of these other cautionary tales have succumbed to.
