How Did School Closures Affect Learning?

There was no understanding how schools could be hubs of communities. Reading performance for nine year olds fell by the largest margin in three decades. Math scores dropped too, and the drops were steeper for students of color. A child who hasn't learned to read by the age of ten has a much higher chance of not graduatng from high school.
