The Word Widow, the Word Blurb, and the Difference Between Science Fiction and Fantasy
Mignon Fogarty: The word widow is an exceptionally old word. She says the Oxford English Dictionary shows that it has been used quite regularly over the years to refer to a man whose spouse has died. In publishing, a widow is a small bit of copy which appears all by itself at the top of a new column or page. Mignon will also talk about the difference between science, fiction and fantasy.
