The Crud Economy: A Sign of Our Civilization and Progress
There are some parts of the crud economy that you don't think we should get rid of, aren't there? Things, activities, which are not really economically productive, but we still kind of need. I mean, ironically, I'm not meaning to take a swipe at a late philosopher, but that we have anthropology professors who can write books about the bullshit economy is a sign that we're in advanced. If we were in a desperate position where everyone was having to desperately grow crops and keep disease at bay, then we wouldn't have anthropology professors writing entertaining books or medieval poetry professors.
