The Differences Between Hindi and Urdu

In India and Pakistan, there's several differences between Hindi and Urdu. The national identity of these two countries is predicating on them being two different languages. And one of the ways that they make them more distinct is you have Hindi written in Devanagari script and you have Urdu written in Arabic script. So yeah, I guess language policy takes in more than just language. It takes in the writing system and all that cultural baggage and stuff.
