The Rise and Fall of Day La Soul
Public enemies' third album, Fear of a Black Planet, was a monster out of the gate. The old methodology simply made it difficult for rap to get a fair shake. Day La Soul were originally from Long Island, New York. They came up as part of a loose collective of hip-hop troops who called themselves the native tongues.
