How Should We Think About Violent Crime?
Politicians are struggling to deal with the crime issue, particularly incumbents who have served while this has been happening. Some communities have seen their violent crime rates go up by 100, 200% in certain instances. That's effectively a situation where certain people in their neighborhoods have worse odds of getting shot or being the victim of violent crime than a soldier in a war zone. that is not an immaterial fact.
