The Importance of History and Doctrine

Machen: Catechism puts truth before conduct, doctrine before life. He used those to critique liberalism because liberalism was squishy about history. History of the Bible and Jesus in particular was filled with supernatural events that science made impossible to understand or affirm. So Machen said, no, you can't do that. You will lose Christianity if you take away that supernatural element.
