Mr. Lee felt the weight of Mendoza's hand lift from his shoulder, and he slowly walked off the bus. He did not look back. I imagine for the first few steps, there's this fear with you that you're gonna be shot down in front of everyone,. You don't know if you're truly free yet. Unfortunately, authorities would ignore Mr. Lee just like they had Mrs. Lee, and all the other hostages that were released. Another missed opportunity for authorities to gather critical information on the situation inside. Not a single one of them was asked a single question. The incompetence of the negotiators and officers would only get worse from here.
