The Importance of Ishi Had in Religious Studies
The concept of Ishi had, which can be literally translated as pre-decommence, is a tool used by Islamic scholars to engage with new emerging issues. The key tools used at this time in the 1950s, 60s and later were that the questions triggered by modernity are just one phenomena of this big modernity. Each generation has its own new questions that the previous generation did not have. So what we need is to revive the constant of this independent political, political reasoning so that we can provide answers informed by our ethical, religious, and moral tradition.
