The Progressive Era and the Problem of Private Power
In the Progressive Era, there is this broader concern about this idea of private power. Think the monopolies of the Vanderbilt or you know, JP Morgan,. The man, not the firm, pulling the strings of the modern economy. And so that thought process I think is really analogous to what we're thinking about today. This is in some as a stone age, right, of technology relative to now. But I think it's enlightening because in a lot of ways, reformers of the turn of the 20th century were thinking about these same problems.
