The Importance of Literacy
I love this Gandhi quote, that there are people in the world so hungry that God cannot appear to them except in the form of food. So how have you seen literacy alter those chains or those patterns? Well, I think Kerala itself, the state of Kerala, is a prime example because right now it is the most literate state in the country. It's like 99% literacy. And that translates into, you know, better education, just a more awareness. Also translates into sort of a contentious, combative community at times because they're all reading the paper and they're all very opinionated.
