The Freeway Phantom Investigation
The freeway phantom investigation had received a large amount of police attention. Leads were followed up as far away as Mexico and crimes that shared similar amos were checked for possible links. By May 1973, the investigation had stagnated and the number of detectives assigned to the case had dwindled to two. Allegations continued to surface that the police weren't taking the investigation seriously because of the victim's race.
