Jerome's Position on the Priest and Bishop
Jerome says that one of the priests should be elected to preside over the others, and the seeds of schism would be removed. He continues: "Let him reread the apostles' words to the Philippians when he says Paul and Timothy, slaves of Jesus Christ" That's a quotation from Philippians 1-1.
