The Effect of Rust on Soil Color
Sometimes soil looks reddish because there's iron in the ground and it oxidizes. With a lot of energy, you can run the reverse reaction and get your iron back. You can have iron that makes a yellow when it's mixed with certain things. It could do all kinds of fun stuff. So soil color has a lot to do with the iron minerals that are in the ground.
