The Risk of Overconfidence in AI

I'm going to ask a question, I guess more on like X risk type issues and something more extreme points. So this was actually to do with the technical report that, you know, this is a quote again: "You've facilitated preliminary model evaluation by the alignment research center" And then the conclusions that the current model is probably not yet capable of autonomously doing so. The question was, why only probably Nash? Is that just like academic hedging? Is there more serious risk here or what's behind the inclusion of that language?
