LZ Granderson: The Christian understanding of gratitude lacks punctuality. He says we want a gift that is clearly demarcated, it's handed over completely to us. LZ: We're trained to have our giving and Thanksgiving conditioned by an appropriate level of independence. It's never the case that such a gift is fully as ours in order for us to lay claim on it.
