The Trial of Wang Bingjang
Wang Bingjang frequently travelled to Southeast Asia to meet fellow political campaigners. On a visit to Vietnam in 2002 he was kidnapped by Chinese security and held for six months. In December of 2002 my family learned that he was in Chinese custody. Wang Bingjang eventually appeared in court. It was a closed-door trial. He wasn't allowed to speak. I don't think he was even aware of his charges. There was no evidence, no witnesses and he was found guilty of terrorism and also an espionage charge and that was the one that he received a life sentence for.
