The Washington Post has a phenomenal police killing tracker. There have been 1200 Black lives, rather, 1200 police killings in the last year alone. I think it's important to make that distinction between police killings of criminals and the police interactions with civilians. The idea that this is simply something Black families make up along the way is important for all of us to acknowledge and reckon with.
