The case was brought against the US Postal Service under Title VII. Congress passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which was later amended in the 70s to incorporate some additional changes that will come into play in a second. But what's fascinating about it is that they have the undue hardship language. And so in other words, as a employer, you have an obligation to accommodate religious practices and beliefs of your employees unless doing so would cause an undue hardship.
