Is Your Self-Control Depleted?

Athletes are running off of rate of perceived exertion, not relationship with numbers. When your energy is depleted from a mental standpoint, you have presumably less reserves and so your ability to exert that self-control is limited. And when that is limited, it's harder to access some of those mental toughness skills to push through. That mental exhaustion really does play a role in our ability to physiologically perform.
