i think of plants as primarily survival food, rather than food for thriving humans. i would say kings were the ones drinking al that was sweetened with sugar and ito abusing those things as well. And there are papers actually showing that the gout, historically, in the english monarchies was most likely related to the fact that they sweetened their cohol with excess sugars. But what they were drinking has been talked about many times. Rick johnson has talked about that. I joke, kind of tongue and cheek on twitter and stuff, and say, why would eat the food of peasants when you can eating the food of kings?
