The Interpretation of Dreams by Freud
In 19 o one he published the psycho pathology of everyday life, which discusses what are now called freudian slips. A freudian slip is also known as a sip of the tongue. It's when we say something by accident but for freud, they are not just accidents or mistakes. They are the unconscious mind purposely making its way to the surface. In this book that freud also introduced the provocative edipus complex. The name stems from the myth of edipus in greek mythology where the epotymus protagonist kills his father in order to marry his mother. Despite all the ground breaking and controversial discussions in the book, though, it was not an immediate success
