The Role of Anthropology in the Study of Public Policy
The study of policy is something relatively new in anthropology. It's steeped in positivistic assumptions about the policy cycle and how you start with an idea initiative. Once you create a policy framework, they policies have complicated lives of their own that defy the intentions of their creators. I call it the Frankenstein effect, the monster that you unleash leaps forward and causes havoc in the world.
