Is There Something Elusive About Tulkin's Middle Earth?

Peter Jackson's Middle Earth feels very human, even if you have mythical creatures. But there's something that they don't get about Tulkin’s world. The cartoon adaptation in the 70s actually was aesthetically did a better job of capturing that kind of... We think of fairy tales, fairy tales that we're familiar with, hands the legret of it's saying. It's dark. So when people say the new rings of power series feels off, I think they're tapping into the same feeling as me and others just said Peter Jackson series felt too light-hearted.
