What Does It Take for a Young Person to Learn to Read?
It depends on the person. Human brains are remarkably similar, and they're more similar than they are different from one another. There can be slight differences that will make it harder for students to pass through all the phases that you need to pass through oer to become a fluent reader with comprehension. But there are other factors, like exposure to print. At some point on that journey, you've actually got to look at print,. And you've got to learn how to build that processsir which will connect to your oral language.
