The capitalist promise is the idea that at some point I will be able to realize my desire. The whole basis of capitalism is that future satisfaction can arise so like if it really if capitalism ever redeemed its promise then that person would no longer invest in capitalism. It's a very strange socio-economic system right that it seduces like the more that they it doesn't redeem the promises that it makes the more people get invested in it.
