Using Active Users as a Primo Metric

If you're using active users as a metric, it's important that you define user appropratly. Sometimes to people, it means a hundred users that just signed up and gave you ane mill. Another example is arb and b who are your two users? You have not just the guests, but you also have the hosts. Will you pick a value that actually represents a them both getting value?
