The Dangers of Attacking the Media
I didn't negotiate with him. And I did no due diligence. He told me he'd like to sell the Washington Post. So when you agreed to buy it,. I think the asking price was $250 million. You didn't negotiate? No. I asked him how much he wanted. He said $250. I said fine. Well, I do defend the Post. It is a mistake for any elected official in my opinion. We are so robust in this country, the media is going to be fine. But it's really dangerous to demonize the media and say that they're the enemy of the people.
