What Is Informed Consent?
Our transition from the industrial age to the expeential age is already under way. The notion of informd consent comes from medical ethics, and it just doesn't work in this context for a variety of reasons. There's no such thing as informed consent when it comes to data because not even data scientists know where that data will end up. So how can an ordinary user who is not a data scientist have any even the faintest idea of what they're consenting to?
