The Battle of Alexandria
No western, industrialized army has ever attempted a war of conquest in the orient. As napoleon's forces make land, the disparity in military strength is swiftly laid bare. Ancient versus modern, guns versus bows and arrows. A quick by the number storming of alexandria ensues but the ferocity of the defenders has been noted. This is a campaign that will be fought on entirely different terms. The few french dead are laid to rest beneath the pillar of pompey, the great monument to jlius who was slain not far from here.
