How to Make a Robot Butler That Pours Wine in a Restaurant
The key question is really about how open ended is the environment. If you had a fast food joint that just has to pour drinks and there's no people around that's not so hard. But if you're talking about a cocktail party where people might be wearing funny hats and they might be bumping into each other then the robot has to be more resourceful. Getting to the point where you can do this in general in a crowded environment is years away.
