i fully understand that the objection to saying to using fitness is avaluaive term, when, again, fit in one situation could be unfit relative to another environment. What i'm talking about is the larger picture, where you can talk about the variety of environments in which an organism can function. There's a huge significance and most biologists think there's ahuge significance to the development of such a large brain. The large brain is unique in that it's so adapted to so many environments that it creates a super dominant species - human beings are.
